Important Information.

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: The Safe Driving Seminar will be held today, during 4th, 5th, and 6th periods, in the auditorium. This is a mandatory course that all students need to complete prior to bringing a vehicle onto campus. For seniors that took the course last year, you do not need to take it again. However, you must see the security desk for your new sticker. The seminar will also be held after school today at 2:15 pm in Officer Rolston’s office. Any questions, please see Officer Caivano or Officer Rolston.

  • This week is South Spirit Week. Show your spirit tomorrow for “Wacky Wednesday'' by wearing mismatching clothes and your “ugliest” sweaters and hairdos.

  • We will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a fundraiser tomorrow during lunch periods 4, 5, and 6 in the Lobby with food sold from local restaurants. This is a cash-only event. If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please contact Mrs. Arizmendi at Tarizmendi@ccsd.edu.

Club News.

  • DECA will be selling pizza in the lobby after school today! Also, their club meeting will be tomorrow, after school, in the upper library! Make sure to bring your dues and registration forms!

  • The Gay Straight Transgender Alliance will be having another "drop in" meeting today during extended homeroom in Room 321A, Ms. Seery's office. For those of you who are free,  come by and meet other students in the club. All are welcome.

  • Would you love to communicate in a totally new and different way? Are you interested in meeting new friends? The American Sign Language Club is having their first meeting tomorrow at 2:10 pm in Room 224.

  • The Radio and Podcasting Club will have its first meeting tomorrow after school in Room 170. All are welcome!

  • The Mugen Taiko Drum Team will have a kick-off meeting tomorrow, right after school in Room 213. Old and new members are all welcome.

  • The Photography Club will be having its first meeting after school on Thursday, October 5th, in Room 339. All are welcome!

Athletic News.

  • The Girls Volleyball Team continued their winning ways by defeating Suffern in three sets. The team was led by Grace Termine’s 22 assists, along with the heavy hitting by Ava Marchfeld 10 kills and Maggie Hansen’s 14 kills. The team has pushed their record to 6-2. Great job Vikings.

  • In a very Exciting game that was Tied 0-0 after ¾, the Varsity Field Hockey Team defeated John Jay 2-1. After Clarkstown went up on a goal by Ana Galati, assisted by Madison Davis, John Jay tied it with 1:55 left. The team then put the winner in with about 35 seconds left off a well executed corner from Lila Detoia, to Shana Goldsmith, to Olivia Galati. Quinn Moreno and Lilly Brower combined for six saves for South.

Extended Homeroom.

  • Today, during extended homeroom, the school counselors are hosting a college table event in the Lobby for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Interested Sophomores and Juniors are invited to attend from 8:09 am to 8:29 am, and Seniors are invited to attend from 8:29 am to 8:49 am.
