Strategic Goals To Be Reevaluated - Community Survey To Follow

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff:

During the November 5, 2016 Superintendent Board Retreat, the Board members and I agreed to revisit the strategic goals of the Clarkstown Central School District that were written and approved in 2007. The extensive process at that time involved all members of the Clarkstown community.

We have an opportunity now to take a fresh look at the strategic goals in the context of the current environment and align our future actions to these goals.

On Monday, January 9 at the Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Susan Yom and I will be presenting to the Board our strategic approach centered on discovering the best of what is; dreaming about what could be; designing what will be; and delivering action steps.

The process will involve participation for all stakeholders. Early next week a survey will be sent to the Clarkstown community asking for input.

Our goal with this work is to create a shared vision to inspire our students and staff and to ensure a successful path for our future. I will keep you informed as the work progresses and I encourage your participation.

Sincerely,

Martin D. Cox
Superintendent of Schools
