Update - COVID -19 Case
March 19, 2020
Dear Clarkstown Community and Staff:
Please be advised that we learned this morning that a staff member from West Nyack Elementary School in the Clarkstown School District tested positive for COVID-19 virus. Due to confidentiality considerations, we will not provide any further identifying information. Sue Sherlock, F.N.P, Coordinator of Health Services, contacted the Rockland County Department of Health (DOH) and we are following their recommendations.
The DOH completed an investigation of this case and has determined that no one associated with the school, staff, parents, students etc. are required to quarantine. However, if you or your children experience any symptoms, including dry cough, fever or shortness of breath, please contact your physician or other health provider immediately for guidance. We recommend that everyone continue to follow the CDC's recommendation of hand washing, social distancing, covering the mouth, coughing and sneezing into a tissue, etc.
We continue to wish you safety and health.
Sincerely,
Martin Cox, Ed.D.
Superintendent of School
