Dear Clarkstown Family,

I hope my email finds you well and that you are enjoying your summer!

Although I will be sending a welcome letter soon, I am excited to share that after an extensive search, Ms. Candace Reim has been selected and approved by the CCSD Board of Education as the new Principal of Clarkstown High School North. Over the past two months, we conducted interviews of candidates through a multi-stakeholder approach. We are incredibly thankful to those community members who volunteered their time to participate in the interview process.

During each stage of the interview process, candidates were asked questions designed to elicit their understanding of the position, as well as their creativity, problem-solving skills and passion for education. During each interview, Ms. Reim demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities and strong collaboration skills. Ms. Reim is committed to making a seamless transition by connecting with each stakeholder group in our District to continue progressing North High School toward further excellence. She is scheduled to begin in her new role on August 22. 

Ms. Reim is currently the Assistant Principal at Dobbs Ferry High School, New York. During her time in Dobbs Ferry, she has been integrally involved in the development of the school’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Ms. Reim brings extensive experience related to teaching and learning to CCSD as a chemistry teacher, science department chairperson, curriculum specialist and Assistant Principal. Ms. Reim received her Bachelor’s in Chemistry and Master’s of Science in Educational Administration from Providence College.

We are extremely fortunate to have attracted an administrator who is aligned to the mission, vision and values of Clarkstown and North High School. We look forward to having Ms. Reim at the helm. We are confident that Ms. Reim will impress us with her deep commitment to serving her students and the NHS community.
