Wishing You Peace, Joy, and Happiness During the Holiday Season
Dear Clarkstown School Community Members:
I am writing to thank you for your contributions that have made the Holiday Season a very special time in the Clarkstown Central School District.
At every turn of my travels throughout our District, I see numerous examples of a partnership focused on celebrating students and each other. The month began with the inspiring and heart-warming SEPTA Talent Show at the Community Learning Center in Congers, and has continued through today when I saw two Holiday Sing Alongs at two of our elementary schools.
In between, the month of December has consisted of holiday concerts and numerous Holiday traditions at our 13 schools. The atmosphere throughout the District has been cheerful, friendly, and bright.
In addition to the festive traditions, I have also listened to several stories along the way. During the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council Meeting this Tuesday, we began the meeting as we always do, when the 24 high school students took a turn sharing a positive reflection. Their stories are most often about their success in and out of the classroom setting. This week, however, I was particularly impressed when listening to some of the students share stories about serving people in need throughout the community.
As I reflect on our school year, I am appreciative of the work done daily by our teachers, staff, and administrators while serving students to meet their academic, social, emotional, and physical needs.
I wish you and your family peace, joy, and happiness during the Holiday Season and look forward to enhancing our partnership on behalf of students in 2020.
Sincerely,
Martin D. Cox, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
