Francine Cuccia Day at Link Elementary School
June 16, 2021
The sun shone down on hundreds of smiling faces at the Link IB World School as the school community, joined by the Clarkstown Central School District administrators, Board of Education members and local dignitaries, honored principal Francine Cuccia who retired last year. The celebratory event recognized Mrs. Cuccia for her dedication and inspiration during her 29 years in the District.
The crowd listened as students, community members and colleagues shared their appreciation, praise and well wishes for the “outstanding leader and educational superstar.” Board President Tammy Bierker made the official announcement that Mrs. Cuccia will be added the Clarkstown Hall of Fame and County Executive Ed Day declared it “Francine Cuccia Day."
The event was capped off with the sound of children’s voices and a school-wide performance of “Count on Me.”
“I enjoyed hearing the stories from students and the recognition by teachers, administrators, Board members and guests. The song performed by all students at the end of the program was powerful and inspiring: the first time an entire student body has gathered to sing since prior to the start of the health pandemic in March, 2020. I wish Ms. Cuccia good health and happiness during her retirement,” said Superintendent Dr. Martin D. Cox.
Congratulations Mrs. Cuccia and thank you for your years of dedicated service to the children and families of the Clarkstown Central School District!
