First Girls Ice Hockey Game Played in Section One's Inaugural Season
The first Girls Ice Hockey game in Section One's Inaugural season was played on Wednesday, January 9th at Brewster Ice Arena. It was the Rockland Team vs. the Westchester team. NY Ranger, Colton Orr and his daughter Charlotte, joined 6 players from Rockland and Westchester for the puck drop.
The Rockland team is made up of girls from Clarkstown, Pearl River, North Rockland and Suffern. Clarkstown teachers, Michaela Muckell and Heather Franco are the Rockland Coaches. Gianna Caldera, Quinn Moreno, Hannah Tiell and Amanda Svensson were the Clarkstown players in Wednesday nights game.
Rockland scored the first goal in the historic game and played an amazing game in the 7-5 loss to Westchester. More great things to come as Section One Girls Ice Hockey becomes a reality!
