Update: Bardonia Returns to Hybrid November 9th

Dear Bardonia Parents, Guardians and Staff,

This is an update to our communication yesterday informing you that a staff member at Bardonia Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. Through our internal contact tracing, it was found that the staff member was in school Thursday and Friday, during their infectious period. The Rockland County Department of Health will continue to conduct contact tracing to identify those external to the school environment.

As a result of this action, nine staff members have been identified as close contacts and will need to quarantine. Due to these unavoidable absences, in addition to the existing staff shortages at Bardonia Elementary, the school does not have the appropriate number of personnel to offer a hybrid model of instruction at this time.

As a result, Bardonia Elementary School building will be closed throughout the quarantine period which ends Friday, November 6. Students and staff will continue with remote learning throughout the building closure and return to hybrid instruction on Monday, November 9th with the A cohort.

Stay strong! Stay healthy!

Sincerely,

Michelle Zernone
