Update: Little Tor Returns to Hybrid November 9th

Dear Little Tor Parents, Guardians and Staff,

This is an update to our communication yesterday informing you that a staff member at Little Tor Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19 and was in the building during their infectious period.  We have completed our internal contact tracing and The Rockland County Department of Health will continue their efforts to identify those external to the school environment.

As a result of this action, seven staff members have been identified as close contact with the positive case and will need to quarantine. Due to these needed absences, in addition to the existing staff shortages at Little Tor Elementary, the school does not have the appropriate number of personnel to offer a hybrid model of instruction at this time.

As a result, the Little Tor Elementary School building will be closed throughout the quarantine period.  Students and staff will continue with remote learning throughout the building closure and return to hybrid instruction on Monday, November 9th with the A cohort.

 Stay strong! Stay healthy!

Sincerely,

Matthew Younghans, Ed.D.
Little Tor Elementary School Principal
