Earth Day Celebration At Little Tor

Earlier this week, New York State Senator David Carlucci joined Little Tor students in Grades K-3 to celebrate Earth Day. Senator Carlucci discussed the importance of keeping our earth and environment clean, and prompted the students as to techniques they can use to do their part.

As part of the ceremony, Senator Carlucci asked students to join him and John, from O'Sullivan Tree Care to plan a McIntosh Apple tree on our grounds. Staff from O'Sullivan Tree Care donated the tree, prepared the tree site, and helped to plant the tree, which will hopefully last and grace the grounds of Little Tor for years to come. O'Sullivan also sent each child in attendance home with a seedling from an Eastern White Pine tree.

We thank the Senator and O'Sullivan Tree Care for providing us with this donation, for leading a fun ceremony for our students, and for their continued community partnership.
