Word Master and Math Olympiad Awards
During the June 16, 2016 BOE meeting, Director of the Community Learning Center Mrs. Marion Arbuco awarded trophies and medals to the following high scorers in the Word Master and Math Olympiad programs.
Word Masters is a National Competition for students in grades three thru eight that encourages growth in vocabulary and verbal reasoning. Students in the program are introduced to words much higher that their grade level and challenged to use these words in critical thinking exercises and competitions. Approximately 150,000 students compete annually across the United States, in three separate challenges. The following students scored in the top 10%.

Math Olympiad is a world wide competition that began in 1977 that focuses on teaching strategies for problem solving and fostering mathematical creativity and ingenuity. Approximately 150,000 students worldwide compete in five contests a year. This year, 81,891 students in the United States participated, with 8189 receiving scores in the top 10%. 6 Clarkstown students achieved this ranking, 4 earning Silver Awards (top 10%) and 2 earning Gold Awards (top 2%). The following students are the top scorers for their school team:
