SHS Covid Cases Follow up-Hybrid Learning Resumes Monday November 9th

Dear South Parents, Guardians and Staff,

Thank you for your cooperation as we completed our protocol for handling the positive COVID-19 cases at South, as was announced yesterday.

Our internal contact tracing is complete and we have learned that none of the students who recently tested Positive for COVID-19 were in the building during their infectious period.  As a result, the school will be ready for students and staff to return as planned.  South High School will reopen for in-person instruction on Monday, November 9th.

The SAT scheduled for Saturday, November 7th will take place as planned.

Sports practices and contests may resume Saturday, November 7th as well. South’s Athletic Director, Mr. Arvanites will email players and coaches directly. Players who have been contacted and told to quarantine may not resume play at this time.

The students who tested positive will continue to isolate, and the identified close contacts will be in quarantine for the required periods prior to returning to the South High School building.  We send them our best wishes for good health.

Thank you.

Stay strong! Stay healthy!

Sincerely,

Deb Tarantino
