SHS Covid Cases - Remote Learning 11/6

Dear South High School Parents, Students and Staff,

We were notified today that three South High School students tested Positive for COVID-19.   The Department of Health has been notified and we are following the appropriate protocols.

The students have not been in the school building since the building closure on October 26th.  One of the students participates on the South High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team in addition to two other South students unrelated to the soccer team. Students with known close contact to these individuals will be notified directly.

Due to the need to continue our investigation to determine if there are any additional exposures, and to determine if the exposures are related to an event(s) outside of school, South High School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, November 6th.  The school will pivot to a full remote learning schedule for all students and staff. Instruction will begin at the normal time of 7:25 a.m.

Following our internal contact tracing, we will update you regarding the date for building reopening.

All in-person after school activities, school pictures, and athletics are cancelled while the school building is closed.

We appreciate your anticipated cooperation as we follow the appropriate procedures developed and implemented by the District under the guidance of the local Health Department.

Thank you.

Stay strong! Stay healthy!

Sincerely,

Deb Tarantino
