Limited Spectators at Athletic Events Beginning Wednesday, November 4th

Dear Clarkstown High School North and South Parents,

As recently communicated, we have been working to phase in spectators at our athletics events. At this time, we are excited to announce that we will be moving to “Phase 2” of the spectator plan on Wednesday, November 4 at North and South High Schools.  Phase 2 allows two spectators for each home team athlete for North and South games.

Our priority in facilitating any athletic event is to keep all students, staff, and community members safe and healthy.  On that note, it will be essential for protocols to be followed at all of our athletic contests which will now involve spectators. Specifically:

  • Spectators will need to complete a health screening document when entering the athletic site.
  • Spectators will need to wear masks throughout the athletic event.
  • Spectators will need to adhere to 6-feet social distancing requirements as established by the New York State Department of Health, family members excluded.
  • Visiting team spectators are not permitted to attend away contests.
  • Additional information regarding specific protocols for each high school will be coming out tomorrow.

We are excited to be able to provide students the opportunity to participate in athletics.  We realize this has been a difficult season and appreciate your support in understanding the reasons for our temporary pause.

Thank you.

Stay Strong! Stay Healthy!

Sincerely,

Chris Serra, Ed.D.
