LK and NHS Positive Cases- March 22, 2021
We are writing to inform you of three positive COVID-19 cases of three individuals testing positive on Saturday, March 20th and Sunday, March 21st. The cases had no impact on in-person learning for the Link Elementary and and North High School communities. This communication is shared for your information.
Link Elementary School
The first case was a staff member at Link Elementary who tested positive on Saturday, March 20th and was in school on Thursday and Friday, March 18-19, which was during their infectious period. The exposure was limited and no classrooms were impacted, nor did any students or staff members need to quarantine as a result of the exposure. The affected area was deep cleaned this morning.
North High School
The second case was a staff member who tested positive on Friday, March 19 and was in the building on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17 and 18, which was during their infectious period. Those who were exposed were notified by an administrator and given guidance about quarantine. No classrooms were impacted. The affected area was deep cleaned over the weekend.
The third case was a student at North High School who tested positive on Sunday, March 21st and was in school on Thursday and Friday, March 18 and 19, which was during their infectious period. The exposure was limited and those considered exposed were contacted by an administrator and given information about quarantine guidelines. The affected classrooms are closed and will be deep cleaned today, Monday, March 22, prior to release for use.
These cases remind us that the pandemic is still with us and we must continue the mitigating measures that help prevent the spread. These behaviors -- social distancing, wearing face coverings and washing or sanitizing hands -- are essential at school and home.
