COVID-19 Update - SHS and FFMS Parent
March 20, 2020
Dear Clarkstown Community and Staff:
Please be advised that we learned yesterday that a parent with a student from South High School and a student from Felix Festa Middle School tested positive for COVID-19 virus. Due to confidentiality considerations, we will not provide any further identifying information. The DOH has not recommended any changes in behavior for our staff or students as a result of this instance.
Please keep in mind that this parent was tested after schools had been closed and students have not been together for a week.
I am asking that we keep in our thoughts and prayers individuals who have been tested positive with the virus along with their family members.
For all in our community, if you experience any symptoms, including dry cough, fever or shortness of breath, please contact your physician or other health provider immediately for guidance. We recommend that everyone continue to follow the CDC's recommendation of hand washing, social distancing, covering the mouth, coughing and sneezing into a tissue, etc.
Sincerely,
Sue Sherlock
