Dear Parents and Guardians,

The District has been notified by the Clarkstown Police Department that there are currently road closures which include Parrot Road from Germonds Road to the entrance of Felix Festa Middle School.

The road closures are due to an accident in which an underground propane tank was struck during work at the Schimpf Farm construction site. The Clarkstown Police Department, West Nyack Fire Department (WNFD) and Hazmat are all on scene.

The WNFD will be conducting a controlled burn to rid the underground tank of any propane that remains in the tank. This process may take several hours to complete.

As a precautionary measure, all students and staff will remain in the building for the day or until the incident is cleared. We are working with our transportation department to reroute the buses in the event the roads are not open by the end of the school day. We will update you at that time.

Due to the anticipated heavy traffic congestion, we ask everyone to please avoid travel to the Festa Festa campus for the day.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Interim Superintendent
