New RCDOH Quarantine Guidelines and CDC Guidance
Dear Clarkstown School Community,
The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) has issued revised guidance regarding their quarantine requirements for school exposures. The information was shared yesterday in a letter to all Rockland County School Superintendents.
Please note that this new policy updates the RCDOH’s prior guidance effective yesterday, and will allow more students and staff the opportunity to avoid quarantine and remain in school following a school classroom or school bus exposure.
The RCDOH will continue to be involved in the handling of all reported COVID cases within our schools and conduct a thorough review of each case in order to determine who has been exposed.
Please see the attached letter for detailed information.
Also, the CDC today released new guidance for K-12 schools available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/index.html. We are reviewing the information and as always, we will await guidance from the New York State Department of Health.
Have a restful and healthy break.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Susan J. Sherlock, F.N.P.
