CCSD Honored By Rockland PBA For Leadership In School Safety
Last Thursday night, the Rockland County PBA hosted their Annual Awards Dinner, recognizing officers who have gone above-and-beyond in their line of work.
Two members of the Clarkstown Central School District administrative team were also honored. Director of Business Services and Safety Officer Ms. Maureen Sullivan and Director of Facilities and Operations Mr. Anthony Valenti received awards for their leadership in school safety and for bringing about the district-wide security upgrades implemented this year.
Ms. Sullivan and Mr. Valenti, along with our partners at Clarkstown Police Department, worked tirelessly to transform school safety throughout the Clarkstown Central School District. Together they have developed training programs, safety plans, controls, exercises and practice drills based on “best practices” for school safety. In addition, their hard work and dedication has resulted in increased security staffing for each school, additional programming and technologies, the introduction of the alternative to suspension program and a variety of creative approaches for training staff, administrators and students at CCSD.
Through their leadership, CCSD has pioneered a new greater standard for school safety in Rockland County.
We are all very proud of their work and look forward to their continued leadership.
