Dear Clarkstown School Community:

I hope this communication finds you and your family members in good health and spirits.

Today, I am writing to promote the Superintendent’s Friday Round Table, scheduled for tomorrow, April 16 at 1-2 p.m. This week, the live streamed Round Table will be presented in two parts as indicated below:

Part I - South High School’s Medha Mathur and Her Service to Students (1-1:30 p.m.)

Medha Mathur, a senior at South High School, while working with the school’s Recognizing Anxiety and Depression Club (RAD) and the Girl Scouts, has created self-care kits for her peers in need of some emotional support. The kits include items such as a stress ball, journal, motivational stickers, and a link to a Spotify playlist that includes calming and inspirational songs that are calming and inspirational.

South Student Assistant Counselor Sue Solar, the school’s RAD Advisor, and South Principal Deb Tarantino, will join their Medha as guests at the Round Table.

During this segment of the Round Table, viewers will be able to learn about Medha’s service to others, the support she has received from Ms. Solar, and reflections from Ms. Tarantino regarding Medha seeking to inspire others during the challenging times of a health pandemic via the creation of her self-care kits.

Some members of the District’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team that will present at a Board Workshop tonight will take time to reflect on the workshop during the Round Table on Friday.
