SHS Named Blue Ribbon School for 2018
Clarkstown High School South has been designated an Exemplary High Performing, National Blue Ribbon School for 2018 by U. S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. It is one of 349 schools in the nation and one of 20 from New York to be recognized in 2018.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has been recognizing great American schools since 1982. Public and private primary and secondary schools are selected for this award as a result of their overall academic excellence and by demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. From the National Blue Ribbon Schools website, "The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning."
