Felix Festa Positive Case - February 26, 2021
Dear Felix Festa Parents, Guardians and Staff,
We were informed a short time ago that an A School student at Felix Festa Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was in school Monday and Tuesday, February 22-23, which was during his/her infectious period. The Rockland County Department of Health will be notified and will conduct contact tracing.
Those who were in close contact with the individual while at school are being informed directly by the Principal, Schools Nurses and Coordinator of Health Services and will be provided the guidelines regarding quarantine. This process should be completed by 5:00 pm this evening.
The impacted areas will be cleaned over the weekend, and in-person instruction will resume as scheduled on Monday, March 1st, for all students and staff who are not required to isolate or quarantine.
The District has a multi-layer approach to keeping our students and staff safe. Wearing masks, social distancing, hand washing and hand sanitizer use are important safety measures we are taking at all of our schools.
We want to emphasize the importance of completing and reporting your health screening results each day you or your child is in our school building or on our buses. The webpage www.ccsd.edu/share911 can provide more information on this process.
Thank you.
Stay strong! Stay healthy!
Sincerely,
Diane Mitchell, Ed.D.
