Additional Covid Testing Site - Dec. 14 at the Palisades Mall

Dear Parents Guardians and Staff,

In a previous communication we explained that our school buildings in zip code 10956 have been designated by the Governor as being in the “Yellow Zone.” As such, 20% of the students, faculty and staff in these buildings must be tested for COVID-19 over a two week period, December 8 -  22, 2020.

In addition to the testing sites mentioned in our earlier communication, the Rockland County Department of Health has coordinated with Good Samaritan Hospital to provide another Covid-19 testing site option:

Monday 12/14/2020 - 11am - 2pm  Palisades Mall
Drive-Up Testing - Garage Entrance, West (ramp entrance next to Best Buy).
Walk up for people coming by bus. Please follow signs.

This is a rapid test (Binax card test) which is done by a nasal swab which is inserted just minimally into the nose.

Lab findings:

  • If a Binax card test (asymptomatic/school surveillance) is positive, the student/staff must quarantine and go for a PCR test within 48 hours.
    • If the PCR test is positive then the student/staff must isolate. Case investigation and contact tracing will begin.
    • If the PCR test is negative then the student/staff is released from quarantine and not counted as a case.

  • If the Binax card test (asymptomatic/school surveillance) is negative there is no need further testing.

The pre registration form has been attached. Please fill out the form prior to coming to be tested. This includes consent (on the bottom of the page) for testing a minor (under 18). Notification of test results will be done by Good Samaritan Hospital.

All testing results should be submitted to CCSD at
