Holiday Wishes From Superintendent Cox

Dear Clarkstown School Community Members:

Seasons Greetings!

"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give." ― Winston S. Churchill

These words spoken by the former Prime Minister reflect what is happening here in Clarkstown, a perfect description for the learning environment established through the care and cooperation of students, parents, teachers, staff, administration and Board of Education members.

Examples of giving can be seen throughout our buildings as each school day unfolds, driven by the acts of our students and staff, combined with the unwavering support of the entire District. Clarkstown is truly a community focused on each others’ success and the success of our next generation.

An exciting part of this community of giving is how it reaches out to those outside of itself, to those in need around the world.  Through fundraisers, volunteer work, and invitations to school events, our students and staff have touched the lives of those nearby and those far away. Please take a minute to glance through these headlines of Staff and Student Outreach describing events that have occurred just over the past few months.  I believe you will share my pride in knowing that these gifts, these kind deeds, come from the open hearts of your children, our caring students.

During this season of giving, I wish you all the peace, joy and happiness that comes with being with family and friends and the best of everything for the coming year.

Sincerely,

Martin D. Cox
Superintendent of Schools
