What's Your Inquiry?
Felix Festa MS Social Studies teachers took on a challenge this past summer, that ended in victory for both them and their students. The task, create a mini-unit for students that requires them to focus on an overarching question, to develop an answer by consulting a variety of resources, and finally to use their newly acquired knowledge to take informed action as citizens.
Team Clarkstown devised a mini-unit around the question of the role of government and with this, became one of 10 winners from across the country. The FFMS social studies department will receive $500 for this winning entry. In addition, their work will be shared on the c3teachers.org website as well implemented into classrooms from grades K-12 this year.
