Felix Festa False Threat 11/21/2019

November 21, 2019

Dear Felix Festa Parents, Guardians and Staff,

Late last evening, a false threat was made against Felix Festa Middle School by a person using a false name and pretending to be a Festa student.  The threat was called into a Veterans Administration hotline and officials there contacted the Orangetown and Clarkstown Police Departments.

The Police conducted an investigation in cooperation with District Administration and determined that the threat was not credible, and that school should continue as scheduled.

Out of an abundance of caution, there is an enhanced police presence on the Felix Festa Middle School campus today, in addition to the two Clarkstown Police School Resource Officers who are stationed on campus every school day.

We remind the community that making false threats is a crime and any student found responsible will be arrested and charged accordingly.

The safety and security of our students and staff is always our top priority and greatest concern.
