Updated Mask Guidance
Dear Clarkstown Community,
Based on evolving guidance from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), the following adjustments will be made to the school day starting Monday, June 14, 2021:
- Clarkstown Central School District students in grades K-5 will no longer be required to wear a face shield with their face mask while riding the school bus, as long as masks are worn properly.
- Barriers will be removed from classrooms and other instructional spaces, K-12, starting on Monday. The removal process may take a few days to complete.
Please note that these adjustments do not change our physical distancing plans; they simply remove the requirements of a face shield on buses and/or barriers for students in classroom areas that are providing instruction.
Fans may be used in classrooms, as long as they are not directed at students or staff.
As such, our CCSD Reopening Plan will be reviewed and updated to reflect the most recent adjustments.
Thank you for your continued support, your efforts, and your communication and collaboration as we look forward to a positive and celebratory end to what has been a most challenging school year.
Martin D. Cox, Ed.D.
