(May 19, 2021) Suggestions for the Warmer Weather
Dear Clarkstown parents and guardians,
The weather has taken a quick turn toward summer and we want to make some simple recommendations to help students get through their day, especially while face coverings are still a mandate.
Please keep your children well hydrated. They should be reminded to drink water throughout the day, every day. Send a full water bottle with them to school. We will remind them to drink frequently.
In addition, we will implement increased mask breaks. We ask that you send an extra mask each day.
Please dress your child in layers. It may be cool when they leave the house in the morning but they need to be able to remove their top layer as it gets warmer during the day.
The district administration will be sharing information related to this issue in the coming days. We are continuing to discuss the impact of the hot weather and other options in order to maintain the health and safety of our staff and students.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sue Sherlock, F.N.P.
