Woodglen Update Covid 19 Report 10.7. 2020

Dear Woodglen Elementary School Community,

We were notified this morning that a Woodglen Elementary School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student was NOT in the school building during their infectious period. As per protocol and based on the Department of Health guidance, it was determined that the District does not need to take any action.

Woodglen Elementary School will remain open for instruction.

You are probably aware that the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in and around our community is on the rise. Everyday we reinforce the health and safety protocols the District has put in place that are meant to keep staff and students safe and mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

These begin with a health assessment by staff and families that is entered into the Share 911 app or through at the start of each day before coming to school. It continues with the wearing of face coverings, hand washing or sanitizing, and social distancing. Our buildings are cleaned and sanitized each evening and on weekends by our facilities staff.

We rely on you to implement and stress these practices at home. These are proven strategies. Please consider out of home activities as well, especially with older children who may be on their own at times.

Working together, we will be able to continue in-person learning in a safe and healthy environment.
