Laurel Plains Student Madison Maione Receives Award of Merit
Congratulations to Madison Maione, a student at Laurel Plains Elementary, for being chosen as a National Reflections winner. She received an Award of Merit in Visual Arts for her piece "Eye, Myself," an incredible accomplishment!
"My drawing explores what makes me-me. I hope to inspire others to look within themselves like I did. I drew my passions, interests and desires and hope others will look within themselves and remember what theirs are too so they never give up on their dreams." - Madison Maione
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. The theme for the 2020-21 program was "I matter because..." Over 400 entries were receive from NYS and nearly 1000 entries from across the country moved on to the National Level.
