March 3, 2017

The Link IB World School students celebrated cultures from around the globe on March 3, 2017.

In front of a packed crowd of parents, students, faculty, staff and family members, the students took turns performing on stage while showcasing cultural elements of several countries. Principal Fran Cuccia, and then Co-IB Coordinator Danielle Jackson, welcomed the audience and students at the outset of the program.  The students then performed the following: International Chorus, Irish Step Dancing, Indian Dance Pair, German Song, Russian Ballet, Latin Dance, Spanish Club Dance Lessons, Indian Poetry, Frere Jacques, Greek Dance, USA Dance, Tae Kwon Do Demonstration, Indian/American Dance, and an International Fashion Show.

When entering the school, visitors viewed displays in the hallway that included essays about famous people from around the world.  Adjacent to each essay was a doll that students created to portray the individual they wrote about in their respective essays.

Members of the Link PTA provided desserts made from international recipes.

Then Board of Education President Michael Aglialoro was in atttendance as were Board of Education members Walter Litvak and Zizette Deutsch along with Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Jeff Sobel, and then Elementary Curriculum Coordinator Dr. Ellen Connors.
