North Student Completes Eagle Project for FRC
Post
Through his involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, CCSD student Elkin Frank recently completed a beautification project to benefit our community members. Elkin, who attends Clarkstown High School North, built thoughtful clothing storage and display solutions for the Clarkstown Family Resource Center (FRC) in Congers. Enhancing the space is how Elkin chose to approach his Eagle Project — which aims to teach the importance of service to others, help scouts develop leadership skills and provide opportunities to demonstrate them.
Keeping the needs of its visitors in mind, Elkin constructed three double-hung movable clothing racks and 20 large cubbies. The FRC has since shared that these additions have helped transform the Center in immeasurable ways. Lending itself to more of a thrift store setting, this installation enables them to not only service clients more efficiently, but also provide them an environment to shop with more dignity.
Shoppers will enjoy your craftsmanship for years to come. Well done, Elkin!
