South Embarks on Names, Not Numbers® Project
Post
Clarkstown High School South students recently had the privilege to interview Eugene Ginter for Names, Not Numbers®*. Rather than focusing solely on the statistics, the high schoolers heard the powerful, personal story of resilience and survival from Eugene, which they will use to create their own oral history documentary.
CCSD students are once again working with the Holocaust-education program to interview survivors — combining journalism and film editing skills to create documentaries which will be shared with the community. As we observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), we are reminded that behind every number is a name and a story that must never be forgotten. Hearing these personal testimonies ensures that current and future generations will continue to remember and honor their stories.
