Cell Phone Use
Letter from Dr. Baiocco on Student Use of Internet-Enabled Devices at School
Dear Clarkstown Central School District Families and Staff,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and that you’ve been able to spend time with family and friends. Before we know it, the new school year will have begun—and a new state-wide ban on cell phones in schools will go into effect.
Governor Hochul recently announced a “Bell to Bell” ban on internet-abled devices in K-12 schools, which means that students must turn off and stow all personal devices for the duration of the school day. For a glimpse at what this will look like in the Clarkstown Central School District, please click on this video link.
Sincerely,
Marc P. Baiocco, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
