LINK IB World School
The Clarkstown Central School District is located in Rockland County, approximately 25 miles northwest of New York City. Link IB World School is one of nine neighborhood elementary schools presently serving 357 students on one campus. Our school is set on beautiful wooded grounds with an area designated for a “Children’s Peace Garden.” We consider our school a “Link Family” with parents, students and teachers sharing a strong commitment to creating a better world through education.
Link Elementary is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program school. As an IB World School, we offer an inquiry-based learning experience for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) includes learning a world language (Spanish) and focuses on learner attributes and traits that characterize students with an international perspective.
Our school strives to prepare our students for the 21st century through the creation of nurturing, child-centered learning environments. Instructional programs are carefully planned around New York State, District and IB International curriculum standards focusing on the physical, social, emotional, cultural, artistic and intellectual development of each child. Some features of our learner-centered elementary program include: full-day kindergarten; rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum; inquiry based learning; Spanish immersion, art, instrumental and general music programs; library media center; technology as a tool for learning and global communication; community service partnerships and projects; wide variety of after-school enrichment and extra-curricular programs; and enrichment and support services by specialists in the field. As an IB World School, the development of explicit attitudes and the expectation of socially responsible behavior are essential elements of our school culture. These attitudes and traits form the Learner Profile, where each student will aspire to be.
