Marc P. Baiocco, Ed.D., is an experienced educator with 25 years in public education. With five years’ experience as a Superintendent of Schools in the Elmsford Union Free School District, and many years as a social studies/law teacher, assistant principal and middle/high school principal, Dr. Baiocco knows schools inside and out. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Iona College, a Professional Studies certificate in History at Lehman College, a Master’s Degree from Mercy College and an Educational Doctorate from Concordia University.

As a Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Baiocco focuses on competitive and rigorous education for all students in grades PK-12. His first objective is to work together with the community and administration to provide the best teaching and learning for every student in the Clarkstown Central School District (CCSD). Dr. Baiocco’s leadership acumen will enrich collaborative strategic planning and create real, impactful improvement for future decision making. Throughout Dr. Baiocco’s experience as a school and district leader, he experienced measurable improvement in literacy, mathematics, curriculum alignment and graduation outcomes. This was accomplished through team building, goal-setting and action planning. During the interview process, Dr. Baiocco communicated his belief that “the success of the district is attributed to two principles – trust building and a growth mindset.” Dr. Baiocco’s leadership efforts will focus on using a formative assessment process and small group instruction to improve student learning. He looks forward to collaborating with CCSD stakeholders to find new ways of enhancing our students’ 21st century skills and closing achievement gaps.

Dr. Baiocco has served on the New York State Principal Preparation Project team – a team charged with the goal of developing a leadership program for the state to prepare future principals for the challenging work ahead of them. Additionally, Dr. Baiocco is a graduate of the 2016 cohort of the New York State Education Policy Fellowship Program, which examined the policies from the federal and state departments of education, NYS Board of Regents, and local boards of education to promote equitable education policy for all students. He is currently an executive board member of the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents, Chief School Administrators, and the United Way of Westchester and Putnam – each of these organizations have been instrumental in advocating for the fair treatment of public schools. Dr. Baiocco also serves as the President of Section One athletics and is working to ensure more collegial and respectful athletic competitions for all.
