Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended, provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state. Each year, schools/districts are reviewed based upon these formulas and a determination is made regarding their Title I status. The District's Title I Coordinator can be reached at cia@ccsd.edu.
Parent Involvement Requirement:
Title I and ESEA regulations require schools to involve parents of public and private school students in school programs and in the education of their children. The parent involvement requirements for schools and districts serving students through Title I funds are:

Federal funds are currently allocated on the basis of identified LEP students within the District. Each year, schools/districts are reviewed based upon this criteria and funds are awarded accordingly.
