BW Graduation and Awards Ceremony 2026

The District this evening celebrated the academic achievements of six Birchwood School graduates, along with the many scholarship and award recipients recognized during its year-end ceremony. After her first year as principal, Jacqueline Hurley praised the graduates, saying, “I can confidently say that I’m deeply impressed by who you are. Each of you has your own story — a narrative defined by obstacles you’ve had to overcome and a steadfast commitment to your goals. While the road may not have always been easy, you have proven your ability to stay focused and work toward your dreams.”

The evening also featured remarks from a former student, a parent of a former student, two graduates and Jonathan Slaybaugh, the school's former principal. Though each shared a different perspective, their messages reflected a common sentiment: Birchwood is a place that leaves a lasting mark on the lives of those who pass through its doors.

Members of the Board of Education and administrators joined families, staff and community members in celebrating the accomplishments of the students and the enduring legacy of the school. "Your time at Birchwood has not only equipped you with academic knowledge, but has also instilled in you important values such as perseverance, adaptability and problem solving," added Superintendent Dr. Marc Baiocco. "As you move into the next chapter, continue to believe in yourselves and your abilities." Congratulations and best of luck to all of tonight's honorees!
