Child Care Alternate Site Drop Off Requests

Alternative Site Request for EACH school day / FIVE days per week  

Child Care Alternate Site Transportation is a service for registered families who require transportation to baby-sitters or daycare centers after school.  A child care location shall be defined as, a place other than the child’s home, where care for less than 24 hours a day is provided on a regular basis for a child who attends school within the district. 

 The following eligibility requirements must be met: 

  • Registered students must be eligible for CCSD transportation: Grades K - 8 students must live.4 (four tenths) of a mile or more from school, and Grades 9 - 12 students must live 1.40 miles (one and four tenths) or more from school.
     
  • The child care alternate site pick up or drop off must be for each school day, five days per week.  Partial week requests will not be accepted
     
  • The alternate site must be within the school boundary/ attendance area of the child’s school. 
     
  • The deadline to submit Alternate Site Transportation Requests is August 7th for service to begin the first day of school. Applications received after August 7th will be processed and put in place following the completion of the first two weeks of school AND only if space is still available on the bus route requested.
     
  • Students utilizing this service will be dropped off at the same location five days a week. Only one pickup/drop-off point will be assigned by the school transportation office.
     
  • Alternate site transportation arrangements will route students to the nearest centralized bus stop for the respective bus route, they are not house stops and house stops will not be established solely for Alternate Site Transportation Request purposes.
     
  • All parents/guardians who wish to request alternate transportation must apply for the service in writing using the Alternative Site Request Form posted on the Transportation homepage or emailed to you. 
     
  • The previous year’s child care arrangements do not carry over into the new school year; the application process must be completed every year.
