Personal Statement
Michelle lives in New City with her husband and two children that attend the Clarkstown schools. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist with 15 years of experience working with students of all ages and abilities. Her career includes five years in Boston Public Schools and ten years in the New York City Public Schools, alongside extensive work in early intervention services for young children and their families.
Driven by a passion for creating inclusive, supportive environments, Michelle founded and leads an Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) Committee. In this role, she supports initiatives to train staff on implementing best practices, empowering school teams to help students build essential communication skills, access their education, and participate in their daily lives with greater independence.
Deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of professionals, Michelle regularly supervises graduate students and first-year clinicians entering the field. Throughout her career, she has collaborated closely with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to advocate for the resources every learner needs to succeed. Michelle also holds a degree in Educational Leadership and maintains New York State certifications as both a School Building Leader and a School District Leader.
