Universal Pre-K Program 2024-2025

  • Universal Pre-K (UPK) is a free pre-kindergarten program available at local preschools with qualified teachers. Program space is limited and students are selected via a lottery system. 

    The program is designed to help children begin their education at an early age and to get a solid start on the road to active learning. UPK programing offers a developmentally appropriate program that aligns with New York State Pre-Kindergarten Learning Standards.     •      Participating children must turn 4 years old on or before December 1, 2024 
           (born between December 2, 2019 and December 1, 2020)
    •      Program dates will follow CCSD's school year calendar (pending NYS budget approval)
    •      Tuition-free, full day (5 hours), curriculum-based program
    •      Program is provided at local UPK sites                                                        
    •      Transportation will not be provided

    The CCSD anticipates funding for a minimum of 300 full day (5 hours per day), tuition-free UPK placements at participating providers throughout the district and Rockland County. We are actively working on ways to increase seat allotments toward our goal of accommodating all eligible residents of the district. Please check back for additions to our list of participating providers.  Spaces are limited and will be chosen via a lottery process.

    All applications must be received by the submission deadline, February 12th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Submissions received after the deadline will automatically be placed on a waitlist.

    As program spaces are limited, a lottery will be used to determine student placement in the program. 

    Applications must be received by February 12, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. to secure a space in the lottery.  Applications received after that time will automatically be placed in a waiting pool. Parents/Guardians will be notified of their child’s placement status with complete information on how to register as you will be required to complete the full registration process with the Clarkstown Central School District. Registration will take place in-person during the month of March.
