RECORDS MANAGEMENT

  • FOIL REQUESTS

Under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), any interested person may inspect and copy certain of the records kept by any state or municipal agency. The Law does not require that records be created or compiled in order to comply with a request. Accordingly, certain designated records of the Clarkstown Central School District are available to the public as provided by law.

Interested parties can request records by completing the FOIL request form and submitting it to the district’s record access officer. Please be as specific as possible regarding the records requested. Forms can be mailed to Records Access Officer, Clarkstown Central School District, 62 Old Middletown Road, New City, NY 10956 or submitted via email to msullivan@ccsd.edu. Please put “FOIL Request” in the subject line. There is a charge of $.25 per page for copying of records.

Addition information regarding the Freedom of Information law can be found at: http://www.dos.ny.gov/coog/foil2.html.

    RECORDS RETENTION

The Retention & Disposition Schedule for New York Local Government Records (LGS-01) indicates the minimum length of time that officials of School Districts must retain their records before they may be disposed of legally. The New York State Archives created and maintains this Schedule in accordance with state law and regulation. District employees must adhere to the schedule prior to the disposition or retention of records.
