Dear Class of 2024 Students and Families,

We are excited to meet our newest Vikings at South’s Freshmen Orientation Day, tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, 2020. As a reminder, students are invited to attend at assigned times based on their last name:

    Students with Last Names A-G – 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

    Students with Last Names H-O – 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

    Students with Last Names P-Z – 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Tomorrow morning, before coming to school, parents/guardians must complete the Student Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire. Students will be required to wear masks, covering their noses and mouths, for the duration of the orientation. We will be taking attendance during each session, and freshmen who attend will be legally excused from classes during their assigned time, including travel time to and from school. As a reminder, we ask our families to please pick up your children promptly so we can prepare for the next group of students.

For students who cannot or choose not to attend our orientation, you will be required to participate in all of your virtual classes tomorrow, as usual. We will also email a virtual orientation video to all freshmen prior to the start of school. This video will be made available on Clarkstown South’s website under South’s Class Corner “Class of 2024.”

Finally, all freshmen students are invited to join the Class of 2024 Google Classroom. Important information will be posted to this page throughout your four years at South, including upcoming events and class officer elections. Log in to www.classroom.google.com using your CCSD username and password. Click on the + sign in the top right corner of the screen and select "Join a Class." Enter join code irwo7ff.  Email agordon@ccsd.edu with any questions.

We look forward to welcoming our newest Vikings to our South family!

Dear Class of 2024 Students and Families,

We are pleased to welcome our newest Vikings as incoming students to Clarkstown High School South. In order to make the transition to South a positive experience, we are inviting your students to South’s Freshmen Orientation Day on Thursday, September 24, 2020. With times being as they are, this year’s orientation will be different than previous years, but our goal of preparing ninth graders for the expectations of high school life is still at the forefront of our planning.

In an effort to keep with social distancing and safety procedures, we are inviting our newest Vikings to attend at assigned times based on their last name.

    Students with Last Names A-G – 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

    Students with Last Names H-O – 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

    Students with Last Names P-Z – 1- 2 p.m.

When students arrive on campus, we will meet them in the front of the school building, and separate them into small groups. Both students and staff must wear masks at all times. The orientation will include a tour of the building and answers to questions that our newest Vikings may pose. We ask our families to please pick up your child promptly so we can prepare for the next group of students.

In addition to our in-person orientation opportunity, we will email a virtual orientation video prior to the start of school. Also, I have attached the “Resources of Clarkstown South High School” form. This form is a quick reference for parents and students about the resources available at Clarkstown South. Both the virtual orientation video and the “Resources of Clarkstown South High School” form will be available on Clarkstown South’s web page under South’s Class Corner “Class of 2024.”

All students who will be attending the in-person orientation must complete the attached “Student Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire” the morning of the orientation and bring a copy of it with them on the day of orientation. If you prefer to complete the form online, parents or guardians should click here the day of the orientation and complete the questionnaire.

We look forward to welcoming our newest Vikings to our Viking family!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Debra Tarantino, Principal
