September 23, 2022
Dear Member of the Class of 2023,
I hope the first three weeks of your senior year have been exciting, educational and exhilarating. This is a busy time for all of you as you work with your school counselors to develop your post graduation plans for next year. While you continue to plan, we have some upcoming senior events and some changes to future events that we need to share with you. In addition, there are actions needed for you to complete that affect your diploma and superlatives for the yearbook. Please read this form completely.
SENIOR PROM
The listed date for the Senior Prom on the printed district calendar is wrong. The correct date is June 12, 2023.
YEARBOOK BREAKFAST
The listed date for the Yearbook Breakfast is also incorrect. The breakfast will take place on June 13, 2023.
CAPS AND GOWNS
Caps and gowns are now available for sale online until January 31, 2023 at www.myschoolbucks.com. Students will not be able to buy their own gowns through their own myschoolbucks account. The cap and gown will only show up in the online store when the buyer is signed in to the parent account. Parents need to create an account on www.myschoolbucks.com and add their child to the account. This will enable the parent to choose and purchase the cap and gown.
All students will wear brown robes with a gold stole and a brown cap with a tassel that includes the graduation year. The cost of the cap and gown is $40. Each cap and gown set comes with one tassel. Students sometimes opt to purchase an extra tassel to keep as a memento. Buyers will have an option online to purchase extra tassels, if they choose, for $7 each. Furthermore, if parents plan to use a siblings gown, the gold stole only may be purchased for $20.
Students are asked to please contact Ms. Gordon at agordon@ccsd.edu with any questions.

Back to School Information

August 2022
Dear Viking Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! Our staff is excited to welcome our students on their individual educational journeys with the goal of “preparing today’s students to conquer tomorrow’s challenges.”
A new school year brings us the opportunity for a new beginning of our school routines and experiences. I encourage our students to establish academic goals for the school year, to become active in the school community through clubs and/or athletics, and to take advantage of the resources of Clarkstown South. These resources include the Homework Center, teachers’ extra help sessions, and a late bus for students who participate in clubs or extra help after school.
See below for more important information concerning Back to School.
HOMEWORK CENTER
The Homework Center is available from 2-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and a late bus is available at 4 p.m. for those students who need transportation.
SCHEDULES
Student’s schedules will be posted on the district’s portal after 3 p.m. on August 25th. School Counselors are in school the week before school starts. If there are any questions or concerns, Please email your child’s counselor. Your child’s counselor’s name is found on their schedule.
STUDENT PARKING
Students who choose to drive to school must have their parents complete the online parking form found HERE. Students who complete the form will be invited to a safety class provided by one of South’s Student Resource Officers. Once the form and class are completed, students should reach out to Security Officer Kukura to obtain a parking sticker. The cost of the sticker is $2.
ABSENCES
Students who are absent from school must provide a note or email with a legal excuse in order to be marked legally absent. Emails can be sent to South’s Attendance Office at SATO@ccsd.edu. Physical notes should be brought to the main office.
DAILY SCHEDULE
In order to satisfy a New York State mandate, this year, there will be a change in our daily schedule. School begins at 7:22 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. The new bell schedule is below:
STUDENT AGENDA
The student agenda contains our Code of Conduct as well as other pertinent information for students and families. Every student will receive a copy of the agenda for their use in school. In addition, the agenda can be found online here: https://drive.google.com/file/
