• MADD Provides Strengthening Families Program
The Strengthening Families Program is an internationally recognized family skills training program found to significantly reduce behaviors problems, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse and to improve social competencies and school performance in children. This program, developed by Dr. Karol Kumpfer, professor at the University of Utah, has been proven effective in 50 states and 17 foreign countries. In the past, the Clarkstown Community Task Force in conjunction with CANDLE had been able to offer the program to Clarkstown families.  We are proud to announce that the Strengthening Families Program is now available for in-home use through the efforts of MADD. The home version of the Strengthening Families Program Home contains the same research-proven content and includes ten 30-minute lessons for parents and kids to watch together at home along with a sixteen page guidebook and downloadable handouts. Reaching parents and kids together results in a huge increase in family bonding and a dramatic decrease in alcohol and drug use.  Additional information and lessons can be found under the Related Links At the bottom of this page.
