The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) refers to the federal financial aid form required for any family who seeks to apply for federal or state funding for college.  The FAFSA cannot be filled out until after January 1st of a student's senior year.  Typically, colleges require filing by mid-February.  Please see link to FAFSA below.
