    Student Council FOOD DRIVE for families in need!  We will be accepting non-perishable food items from Thursday, November 1, through Thursday, November 15.  Collecton boxes will be placed in front of each wing office.    

    Shrek Call Backs:  The names of students who have received “call backs” for roles in the show are posted on the bulletin board.  Please note the following:

    • If you are not on the list, you are AUTOMATICALLY in the chorus/ensemble.  The first full cast and chorus rehearsal/meeting is Thursday, November 8, from 3:45 -5:00 p.m.  If you attend this rehearsal, we will know you are committing to the show.
    • Call backs are on Tuesday, October 30, and Thursday, November 1, from 3:45 - 6:30 p.m. Check the board for which day you are scheduled on. If you cannot make that day and you have a good reason, you may come on the other day. 

    How to prepare:

    • Come with a song to sing from Shrek.
    • If you are interested in a particular role, tell us at your call back.  Your interest will be noted, but we reserve the right to assign any part to any actor.

    Call Backs will be from 3:45 - 6:30 p.m.  You need to be prepared to stay the entire time, so bring homework to do.  If you are released early, you can call to be picked up.  Please remind a parent/guardian about the mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, November 13, from 7:00 - 7:45 p.m., in the auditorium.

    TODAY:  Drama Club News: Due to demand, we are adding audition time slots to Thursday and Friday, ending at 6:30.  So if you couldn’t find a slot and still want to audition, use the new times!  They will be posted today.

    Magazine Drive Extension - We will be accepting any last minute magazine orders through Monday, October 22.  All order must be brought to the A School Office.

    Students Trying Out for Ice Hockey must submit their personal helmet for inspection to the Athletic Office beginning tomorrow.  Helmets will not be accepted after Thursday, October 25.  Helmets will be returned on November 2.  Please see the Mr. Butler if you have any questions.

    Heads Up:

    • The STRIVE Class is collecting new and gently used Halloween costumes to donate to People to People.  Collection bins are in all three offices.
    • "Shrek, The Musical" will be this year's Drama Club Production.  Auditions begin next Monday - October 22.  Sign up on the bulletin board (in the B wing music hallway outside B115) for a five-minute posted slot and take a Participation Agreement Form (to be signed by your parent).  Any questions - See Mr. Deming in D104 or email him - mdeming(at)ccsd.edu  Auditions are open to ALL students in All grades.  If you audition, you are in the show.  Only sign up if you are planning to audition.

    • "Shrek, The Musical" will be this year's Drama Club Production.  Auditions begin next Monday - October 23.  Sign up on the bulletin board (in the B wing music hallway) for a five-minute posted slot.  Only sign up if you are planning to audition.
    • The FFMS Book Club will meet after school on Wednesday, October 24, in the Library Extension to discuss This is Our Story by Ashley Ellstor
    • This year's first Bookshelf Battle trivia competition will take place in the library on Wednesday, November 28, during the lunch periods.  6th grade trivia questions will be from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by JK Rowling and the 7th and 8th Grades trivia questions will be from The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan.  Please listen to announcements for further information.
