Research | Publications | Geology & Civilization in Italy

On the rim of Mt. Vesuvius, July 2000.

Welcome to Mr. Patrick's homepage! I am a third year teacher at Clarkstown South, and this year I teach four sections of Earth Science, and the corresponding lab.  I graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Biology-Geology before moving on to the University of South Carolina, where I earned a Master of Science degree in Geology.  My graduate research focused on using microfossils from marine sediments to reconstruct oceanographic conditions in the tropical Pacific over the past 20,000 years.  Prior to arriving at South, I worked as a Curatorial Scientist for the Ocean Drilling Program  at Columbia's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.  I serve as the Science Department webmaster, and am pleased to be co-coordinating our Science Research program.  This site includes course materials, links, and information on Science Research and a summer course I co-teach in Italy.
