| Regents Chemistry- 1 credit |
This regents level course is recommended for juniors who have successfully completed Biology and the corresponding level of Math, and is required by many colleges. The class devotes its time to a study of the interrelationship between matter and energy and involves formal laboratory work designed to emphasize the concepts and relate the subjects to the use of chemistry in everyday life.

Prereq.: A student entering Regents Chemistry must have passed Regents Biology with a grade of D or better, and Math course II B with a B- or better (or successfully completed Course II). Teacher recommendation is also required. |

| Honors Chemistry- 1 credit |
If you meet the specified criteria in the math and science courses, this course may be taken in place of Regents Chemistry. The Regents examination is still given as the final examination, but you will be exposed to a problem solving approach to the study of interrelationships between matter and energy.

Prereq.: A student entering Honors Chemistry from Biology 9H must have a B average and a B in both sequential Math 1 and 2. From Regents Biology, a grade of A- or better is required, with the same math correlation as above. |
