What's going on? My name is Matt Giannella. I'm a junior and I play rock, punk, and heavy metal music on WVIK 1700 AM. You can hear me every Thursday morning during your morning drive time. I take requests so stop by the studio. I'm Adam Goldstein, a senior here at South, and I'll essentially listen to anything if it's good. And I mean anything! Pop, rap, rock, tock, oldies, hip-hop - whatever sounds good- I'm there. Mostly I'll be playing modern, Indie, and altternative rock, but I'll throw a curve ball every now and then. You can catch my show 8th period on Fridays. Hey, I'm Jesse Goldsmith and you can catch my show Wednesdays during 4th period. I play rock, oldies, and today's top hits. I'm DJ Brett Star and this is my first year with WVIK. I play the best hip-hop and RB that's out there. Listen to my show every Wednesday during 8th period. Sara Lipshutz has been with WVIK 3 years. During her Friday morning shows you'll hear some of her favorite artists, including Fiona Apple, Ben Kweller, No Doubt, The Shins, and The White Stripes. In her free time Sara enjoys working on South's Centerstage productions and folding laundry. Next year she plans to attend Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. The Dennis and John show airs every Monday afternoon from 2:00-2:35. We play mostly classic rock. For every show John usually picks a theme and finds songs that fit that theme. He then finds information about the artists and background info about why the song was written, any influences, etc. Dennis then gets news and weather for that day and puts together a collection of our intro and sweeps between songs which were made for us by Dan Kelly of WPLJ. During the show John runs the board and Dennis takes care of any technical issues. John is also an avid sports fan and helps out with Matt and Kol sports show on Friday afternoons from 2:-2:35. They call him their technical manager, which means he runs the board and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Alex Weisler is a senior in his second year of radio production. You can catch his show on Monday mornings with a mix of music that wildly careens between ancient bubblegum music. He hopes to study journalism and political science at the undergraduate level. Hey, I'm Chris Nieves. I typically play rock and blues from the 1960'sand '70's-Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, TheRolling Stones, etc. I also try to incorporate live recordings into the show from artists such as the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Dave Matthews Band. You can listen in on my show Tuesdays mornings. WVIK presents Alex Metz and Dylan Smith's HALF HOUR OF POWER. Playing the best in modern alternative rock and classic rock, the show is a half hour of pure rock ecstasy. This is Alex's second year at WVIK and Dylan's third. The boys hope to continue bringing you the best in the new underground with some old favorites mixed in. Do you like sports? Do you want a radio show that can keep you interested? Well, look no further. Hosts Matt Grossman and Kol Kalaba will share their incredible sports knowledge and comedic twists. So, catch their show during 8th periods or Friday afternoons. Yo, I'm Jimmypop! That's right. No space. It's one word. If you split it up, I won't answer you. I'm here to rock your socks off with the music I like and the music I know you'll love! I don't stick to one type of music cuz it's so limiting. I'll play anything I think has a good sound that's pure me - no preservatives and no additives - just straight up pop. Hi, my name is Kyle Cichorek. I'm a senior and I just joined the WVIK team this year. I usually enjoy listening to anything related to aletrnative rock and I incorporate these songs into my show. My favorite artists-and they are also the artists I usually add into my show the most- are Linkin Park, Augustana, The Killers, and Blue October. I also play some classics, such as Queen, Aerosmith, and Billy Joel. My name is Allison Portney and I'm a senior here at South. This is my first year at WVIK. You can catch my show on Mondays during period 8. Stay tuned for some of my favorite music, band history, and the latest news. We're Jenna Coene and Erica Schwaninger, and you can catch our show on Thursday afternoons. We play everything from pop to rock and rap to country. We love music and this program!
